Soyeon joined the Korean Music Copyright Association on February 1. The female idol wrote hits for her group, including “Tomboy”, “Queencard”, and “Nxde”.

Soyeon discussed her royalties on Park Myung-soo’s radio show in 2022. Park Myung-soo praised (G)I-DLE’s “Tomboy” and questioned, “How did you study composing?” on the program. Soyeon said, “As a rapper, I started writing lyrics when I was young, then I learned composing.” After “Tomboy” became a smash, Soyeon commented, “It will be a lie if I say I don’t make much money from it.”


When Soyeon appeared on JTBC’s “Knowing Bros,” the cast inquired, “What do you get if you give all your song parts to the members?” Soyeon firmly said, “I receive royalties”.

Young K of DAY6 spoke on “Radio Star” and said, “There are 175 songs registered under my name on KOMCA”, adding, “As of January 2024, I was in 4th place among idols with the most registered songs”.

The male vocalist stated it again on GOT7’s BamBam’s YouTube channel. Young K stated, “When I debuted, my father asked me, ‘Do you want to manage the money yourself or I’ll manage it and give you allowances?” “I cannot use my royalties as I want”. I chose the allowance and have received it until now”.

Kim Min-seok of MeloMance boasted about royalties. In February 2023, Jeon Hyun-moo applauded Kim Min-seok’s digital music performances on MBC’s “Omniscient Interfering View”. The cast also asked about copyright costs and how much “Business Proposal” OST “Love, Maybe” earned after 100 million streaming.

MeloMance Kim Min-seok revealed that his parents manage his finances, stating that he receives a monthly allowance of 5 million won. Even when the songs fail, I get three times the monthly allowance.

Kim Min-seok wrote MeloMance hits like “Gift”, “Love, Maybe”, and “Invitation”.
