“2024’s Mean Girls” The Choreographer Disclosed That BLACKPINK Was His Inspiration

Due to the 2004 version’s success, “Mean Girls” is making a theatrical return in 2024 with a musical adaptation called “Mean Girls 2024.”

In an interview, the movie’s choreographer, Kyle Hanagami, mentioned that he took inspiration for the choreography from BLACKPINK. “It seems like this generation was raised on BLACKPINK (..) Hanagami remarked, “Let’s add a little BLACKPINK inspiration in there.


Kyle Hanagami is a choreographer and creative director from Los Angeles. Since their debut with songs like Boombayah, Playing With Fire, Ddu-du Ddu-du, Kill This Love, etc., he has also been a key choreographer for BLACKPINK.


Since BLACKPINK has performed versions of the beloved “Jingle Bells Rock” dance during their performances, many KPOP fans are excited to see their influence in the movie’s choreography.

In the meanwhile, January 12 is when “Mean Girls 2024” is scheduled for publication.
