Expanding Idol Universes: RIIZE And TWS Use Web Novels And Comics For Distinctive Narrative.

RIIZE and TWS, a new organization, are employing web novels and comics to promote their ‘world extension’ to MZ and middle-aged audiences.

After its success, RIIZE has launched Season 2 of their web book ‘RISE&REALIZE,’ starring themselves. However, TWS partnered with K-comic expert Cheon Kye-young to create a unique first album.

Riize released Season 2 of their web book ‘RISE&REALIZE’ on KakaoPage on the 13th, after its August release to coincide with their formal debut. With all members as protagonists, the narrative is a ‘idol growth story’ founded in ‘faction’—fiction and non-fiction.

Based on fact but allowing for storytelling interventions, this genre of literature has allowed RIIZE to create a ‘own universe’ separate from other idols. The web novel’s popularity, which led to Season 2 within six months, may inspire other artists to create their own universes, quickening the merger of idols and web novels.

TWS, counting down to their debut, added a ‘illustrated version’ to their first album and recruited K-comic maestro Cheon Kye-young. Weverse Ver., the special edition of their debut album ‘Sparkling Blue,’ incorporates Cheon’s ‘Unplugged Boy’ cover. Global living platform Weverse will sell this version.
