Goo Hye Sun loses Lawsuit Alleging Unpaid Fees From Her Previous Agency

Goo Hye Sun loses lawsuit alleging unpaid fees from her previous agency

Even in the second trial, actress Goo Hye Sun (39), lost her lawsuit against her previous agency due to unpaid appearance costs and other issues.

Goo Hye Sun filed a claim against her previous agency, HB Entertainment, seeking damages over 170 million KRW (127,586 USD). On February 8, the Seoul High Court Civil Division 5 upheld the verdict of the first trial.

The court did not, however, offer a thorough justification for its decision.

Goo Hye Sun expressed her displeasure with HB Entertainment’s business practices in 2019, pointing out that they seemed to have biased towards her 36-year-old ex-husband Ahn Jae Hyun both before and after their divorce. She ended their exclusive deal in August of the same year as a result of this.

In the end, the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board arbitrated the issue between Goo Hye Sun and HB Entertainment. As part of the settlement, Goo Hye Sun consented to pay the agency 35 million won to cover costs associated with creating material for her YouTube channel rather than immediately ending the exclusive contract.

Goo Hye Sun filed a lawsuit after receiving this cash, requesting reimbursement for appearance fees on her YouTube channel, editing costs, music usage fees, and advertising revenue. On these arguments, nevertheless, the first trial did not find in her favor.
