On March 14, YG Entertainment said that BLACKPINK’s pre-release song from their debut complete album, “How You Like That,” had received more than one billion Spotify plays. It took about three years and eight months from June 26, 2020, to release.

BLACKPINK is the first K-pop female group to reach the 1 billion stream mark for a single song. After The Pussycat Dolls and the Spice Girls, they are the third fastest in the world to accomplish this milestone.

This accomplishment demonstrates BLACKPINK’s sway and ongoing appeal in the mainstream music industry. Their combined streaming count for all music released thus far is 12.6 billion, with 32 songs in total. They received formal recognition as the “most streamed artist on Spotify among all girl groups worldwide” last year from Guinness World Records.

BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” was a huge hit on a number of international charts. With a “perfect all-kill,” the song peaked at the top of domestic charts and was the number one hit on iTunes in 64 countries. Additionally, it achieved spots at No. 20 and No. 33 on the UK Official Singles Top 100 and Billboard Hot 100, respectively.

Their YouTube records are even more remarkable. The choreography video, which showcases their impressive performance, has received over 1.5 billion views, surpassing the popularity of the original video. The music video for “How You Like That” has had over 1.2 billion views.

BLACKPINK has successfully wrapped up its largest-scale world tour, BORN PINK, which included 34 cities and 66 events over the course of the previous year.

Additionally, they made headlines as the first Asian artist to play the main stage at both the UK’s Hyde Park (with 65,000 attendees) and the United States’ Coachella Festival (with a combined 250,000 attendees over two days). As a result, they interacted with a total of over 2.115 million music fans, establishing their status as a world-class act.
