On April 16 KST, Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon’s agency, announced plans for the renowned singer’s long-awaited comeback in the later part of the year. A press release from the agency stated, “G-Dragon is working on a new album for a second-half comeback. Please anticipate.”

G-Dragon had hinted to a comeback in prior statements, but this is the first official press release. K-pop fans have impatiently awaiting G-Dragon’s return.

Fans are anticipating for G-Dragon’s new music after his 2017 solo album ‘Kwon Ji Yong’ The agency said G-Dragon’s solo album would debut in the second half of the year, marking his first comeback in seven years.

In January, Japanese singer Yoshiki from X Japan posted on social media about working with G-Dragon in his studio, sparking rumors about his future album. Posts and photographs of Yoshiki with G-Dragon raised questions regarding his role in the forthcoming album.
