‘The Round Up: Punishment’ (directed by Huh Myungheng) has reached 10 million viewers, a major milestone for South Korean cinema. The film has 10,016,610 watchers by 7:30 AM on May 15 according to the Korean Film Council’s integrated cinema ticketing network. This makes it the first Korean series and 24th Korean feature to exceed triple ten million viewers. Including foreign films, it’s the 33rd. “The Round Up: Punishment” broke the box office record set by its predecessor by reaching 10 million viewers in 22 days—three days faster than the previous season in 2022. Star Ma Dong-seok has been in six ten-million viewer films, including “Train to Busan,” “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds,” “Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” “The Outlaws 2,” and “The Outlaws 3.” The monster detective Ma Seok-do (Ma Dong-seok) fights an internet illegal gambling gang in “The Round Up :Punishment (Outlaws 4)” from the “Outlaws” series. Ma Seok-do cracks down on Baek Chang-ki (Kim Mu-yeol), a former special forces mercenary who runs a vast illicit gambling organization.
