Fixed Misinterpretation: New Jeans Not In Contract Dispute With HYBE, Says Lawyer

On May 19, entertainment dispute specialist lawyer Kang Jin-seok announced that NewJeans parents filed a petition. Lawyer Kang explained that his participation was only to help submit the petition, despite reports that they could challenge their exclusive contracts with HYBE. It was “I was only commissioned to help with the submission of the petition.” The petition appears to support ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin as she faces a possible management change at HYBE’s May 31 emergency shareholders’ meeting. The court’s ruling on Min’s appeal for an injunction to prevent HYBE from voting is expected before the meeting.
