Former T-ara member Ahreum has been indicted on fraud charges. According to sources, the Gwangmyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said that Ahreum has been charged with fraud and is presently being investigated. A police official stated, “Ahreum’s statement has been taken, and we intend to conduct further investigation.” In April, a group of accused Ahreum scam victims filed a complaint with Ulsan Dongbu Police Station. According to the complaint, the accused victims claimed Ahreum failed to repay the money they loaned her by the due date. According to one claimed victim, Hwang, Ahreum borrowed around 30 million won ($21827.23 USD) in 20 transactions between March 3 and March 9, 2024. Hwang added, “The principal amount borrowed was 27.5 million won, and the money was lent through a long-term credit card loan.” There were fees associated with the minor mobile payment cash advances I used. They needed to send the 30 million won right away to keep the interest rate from rising.” The alleged victim further stated that Ahreum approached her with the intention of exposing her occupation to the public. What’s really striking is that Hwang has been a T-ara fan since 2009. As previously reported, Ahreum and her ex-boyfriend were accused of fraud earlier this year. Ahreum is also facing child abuse allegations, which she has rejected.
