After Aespa Winter, SM staff members get a death threat “The police detained the poster.”

Artists and staff at SM Entertainment are facing threats.
The Gyeonggi Hanam Police Station allegedly detained A, a guy in his 20s, on August 11th on suspicion of intimidating a witness and obstructing the course of justice.

On August 8th, a user allegedly said on an online forum, “I’ll select only SM employees at Seoul Forest Station and kill 9 of them.”

According to the police, A told B, a member of the SM Entertainment girl group he had admired for almost ten years, how he felt through an SNS DM. B, however, did not get his messages, so he was furious and published the aforementioned post.

However, after looking into A’s cell phone, the police decided that his assertion that “I wrote the post out of anger” lacked credibility and detained him. The police learned that A had planned his crime carefully. He had previously planned the crime’s D-Day, written the text of the threatening post, and even prepared tactics for dealing with the police.

Aespa Winter was also in danger on August 7. On an online forum, a netizen posted, “I’ll stab and kill aespa Winter, who is leaving Korea on August 8th.”

“A post threatening Winter’s safety was uploaded on a community yesterday,” SM Entertainment reported at the time. After verifying this, we immediately lodged a criminal complaint at the police station against the poster of the content and asked for prompt investigation assistance. For her departure today, we have additionally increased security staff and worked with airport police to ensure her safety.
