BTS Jimin Is The First Solo Korean-language Artist To Top Billboard Hot 100

BTS’s Jimin has continued to chart for 21 consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts in the United States, raising the status of Korean-language songs and shining a light on his global popularity.

In a recent feature article titled “All Non-English Songs in the Top 10 of Billboard Hot 100,” US music magazine Billboard reported that only 10 out of the 35 non-English songs reached number one, with Jimin’s “Like Crazy” being the most recent number one.

So far, ‘Life Goes On’ and ‘My Universe’ by BTS have topped the Korean music charts, and ‘Like Crazy’ by BTS member Jimin is the only solo singer song. It elevated the prestige of Korean melodies.
Ten years after his début, Jimin produced the Korean song ‘Like Crazy’, which appears on his second solo album ‘FACE’. It reached No. 1 on the ‘Hot 100’ chart immediately after its publication for the 66th time in history, and this is the first Korean solo singer in new history.

According to Billboard, ‘Like Crazy’ re-entered the ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart at No. 9 on the most recent chart dated August 26, breaking the record for the longest time by a Korean solo singer this year, entering the chart for the sixteenth week and ranking at No. 53 on the ‘Global 200’, higher than the previous week. It ascended 11 spots, and in the ‘Global (excluding the US)’ chart, it climbed 10 spots to reach the 31st position. It has been on both charts for 21 consecutive weeks.

Face’, the only Korean solo album listed on the ‘World Album’ chart this week, climbed three positions from last week to eighth, extending his longest top 10 record from 17 to 18 weeks, and ranking 66th on the ‘Top Current Album Sales’ chart for 21 consecutive weeks, the best performance for a Korean solo album.
