Regarding His Role In “Ballerina,” Kim Ji-hoon Admits That “women would Hate That Role.”

Talking about his role in the Netflix movie “Ballerina,” actor Kim Ji-hoon
Kim Ji-hoon did an interview on October 11 in a cafe in Seoul’s Sogyeok-dong. “I got close to Jeon Jong-seo because we did Netflix’s series ‘Money Heist’ together,” the actor remarked when questioned about why he chose to feature in the film “Ballerina.” I read the scenario that director Lee Chung-hyun provided at Jeon Jong-seo’s request.

“Ballerina” is an action-revenge film that follows Ok-joo (Jeon Jong-seo), a former bodyguard, as she pursues Choi Pro (Kim Ji-hoon), the person responsible for her close friend Min-hee’s (Park Yoo-rim) death.

Before taking on a role, Kim Ji-hoon would frequently search for references, but he was unable to find one quite like Choi Pro. I therefore made a lot of effort to depict it in my own unique manner.

When deciding to feature in this film, the actor did, however, also acknowledge his reservations. “This character really got me thinking,” he revealed. I was afraid about playing Choi Pro because I knew that ladies would detest the part, even though I’ve done a lot of villain roles in the past and that this one’s crime might be lighter than the homicidal ones I used to play.

Kim Ji-hoon went on, “Our agency was also worried about the character; they even advised me to choose carefully. However, I thought the scenario was interesting to read. I joined the team because I thought the director and Jeon Jong-seo were great.

He went on, “Choi is a villain, but I thought it wouldn’t leave a sordid legacy in my filmmaking. Although the character has a handicap by design, I believed that as an actor I could make a positive impression on the audience.

The actor praised the finished picture, saying, “I really like the rhythm and hip feeling while filming.” He also added, “The movie was a monotonous narrative in the first place because the story is simple.” I wondered how it would turn out when I was filming it. Because the director displayed an unfathomable image while filming, I was really amazed with his abilities.

On October 6th, Netflix released the movie “Ballerina.”
