As He Appears On This Week’s ‘Hangout With Yoop,’ A Netizens Remain Unimpressed.

Korean internet users are not like of Big Bang member and singer Daesung’s comeback to TV, a prominent broadcasting channel.

The singer will still make cameo appearances on MBC’s “Hangout With Yoo” on October 28. The show follows CEO of JS Entertainment Yoo Jae Suk as he looks for the lead vocalist of his own K-Pop boy band, ONE TOP.

Yoo Jae Suk will be sharing a sneak peek of ONE TOP’s eagerly anticipated debut song with HaHa, Lee Yi Kyung, and Joo Woo Jae on this episode. The episode will also pick up where it left off the previous week, when Yoo Jae Suk met Daesung to discuss Daesung’s candidacy for ONE TOP’s lead vocal role.

Since the 2019 scandal surrounding his ownership of a building, Daesung has mostly avoided the spotlight. It was discovered during this incident that several unlicensed adult entertainment establishments were operating within a Daesung-owned building in Gangnam. Daesung maintained his ignorance of the illicit enterprises operating in his building, but the proprietors of the firms countered that Daesung could not have been uninformed of the operations given the number of visits from close friends and acquaintances. Daesung was found not guilty because there was insufficient evidence to support his claim that he knew about the actions of the tenants in his building. In the end, 56 people—including the owners and employees of the enterprises—were determined to have participated in the operation of these unlawful businesses.

However, Daesung was engaged in a collision with a motorcyclist on the Yanghwa Bridge in May 2011. Police investigated this incident and discovered that “H,” the motorcyclist, had been drinking whilst operating his bike. After then, “H” ran into a street lamp and might have died or been seriously hurt. A few moments later, ‘H’ was struck by Daesung’s Audi A4. In the end, authorities found that even though Daesung had broken the Road Traffic Act by speeding (traveling 80 km/h in a 60 kilogram speed zone), there wasn’t enough proof to determine that Daesung was the reason for ‘H’s’ death.

It appears that Daesung is now prepared to greet the public once more following his protracted absence from TV shows on major broadcasting stations. The singer’s choice to return has drawn criticism from a large number of Korean internet users. Moreover, as hinted in a sneak peek at this weekend’s ‘Hangout With Yoo’ episode, Daesung’s “audition” with Yoo Jae Suk will entail him singing Big Bang hits, which many considered “inappropriate” considering fellow Big Bang member G-Dragon’s ongoing involvement in drug-related crimes.
