Parents Of Vandals May Be Responsible For Gyeongbok Palace

It’s getting costly to remove the graffiti at Gyeongbok Palace. It is estimated that the cost of cleaning graffiti from Gyeongbok Palace’s walls is more than 4.5 million KRW (~3,462.18 USD) every day. The rehabilitation project was originally scheduled to be finished in a week, but because of the event involving the copycat graffiti and the difficult weather, it is taking longer than anticipated.

On December 21, experts from the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and the National Palace Museum began their fourth day of restoration work. Experts are dedicated to the cleaning procedure and use tools like lasers, high-temperature steam, and chemicals like paint thinner.
