All HYBE Labels Artists Update Legal Action Against Artist Rights Violations.

All six HYBE Labels domestic labels updated legal action against label artist rights violations on December 29 KST.

Legal actions were taken to defend the rights of 10 HYBE Labels artists: BTS, Baekho, Hwang Min Hyun, Seventeen, fromis_9, TOMORROW x TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and &TEAM.

According to statements from all labels managing the above artists, many malicious commenters who use online anonymity to defame and slander artists, spread false rumors, sexually harass artists, etc. are facing criminal charges. A defendant who repeatedly produced hostile online posts about fromis_9 was fined 3 million KRW (~ $2,300 USD).

For making sexual harassment and shaming claims against LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans members, including kids, malicious commentators were harshly penalized.

Additionally, a’sasaeng’ who stalked BTS members and sent multiple letters and packages to their families was criminally punished. Other BTS member privacy cases involving’sasaengs’ are pending.

Big Hit Music assured fans that legal action against malicious actors infringing on BTS members’ rights during their mandatory military service will continue, such as the person facing trial for posing as the artists on SNS and leaking unreleased content.

Finally, all labels pledged to monitor SNS and online community portals to defend artists’ rights and punish bad actors without tolerance.
