A Former F.T.Island Member, May Have Registered Minhwan’s Address Fraudulently Visit

Jonghun, who was released from prison for group sexual assault, is suspected of dishonestly registering his house using Minhwan’s address.

Ilyo News stated on March 20 that Choi Minhwan lent Choi Jonghun his home address in 2018. According to the report, Choi Jonghun utilized Choi Minhwan’s address for a year and recorded it.

Choi Minhwan may have lied about his address as he did not live there.

KBS 2TV’s ‘Mr. House Husband’ exposed Choi Minhwan’s home. Choi Minhwan owns a detached property with a basement and two above levels. He shared the basement and first floor with his ex-wife Yulhee and their children, and Choi Minhwan’s parents lived on the second.

According to the media site, Choi Jonghun registered his residence, but Choi Minhwan’s family and parents already lived there.

If Choi Jonghun registered Choi Minhwan’s address as his residence without intending to live there, it would be fake.

According to South Korean Resident Registration Act Article 37 (Penal Provision), anyone who:

1. Falsifies residence or change of residence.

2. Resists or obstructs an administrative agency investigation under this act.

3. Uses or lends a forged resident registration card.

4. Who prevents an administrative agency from receiving resident registration paperwork.

– The penalty is imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million KRW (~22,414 USD).

Choi Minhwan’s approval to Choi Jonghun’s address registration is under investigation. FNC Entertainment said they’re confirming the details.

In January and March 2015, Choi Jonghun, who was involved in the ‘Burning Sun Gate,’ was tried for sexually abusing and illegally photographing women with Jung Joon Young, Mr. Kim, the former Burning Sun MD, Mr. Kwon, and Mr. Heo, an entertainment agency employee.

He was freed on parole in November 2021 after serving 2 years and 6 months for breaking the Act on the Punishment of Violence Crimes (special sexual assault) in May 2019. After negotiating with the victim, his 5-year sentence was reduced to 2 years and 6 months.
