After eleven years, BTOB is departing Cube Entertainment.
Cube Entertainment and BTOB reached a mutual decision to part ways without entering into a new contract on November 6 KST, marking the end of their deal. Eleven years have passed since BTOB began promoting under Cube Entertainment, signifying a melancholy conclusion for both parties.
The official statement from Cube Entertainment is as follows:
Howdy. Cube Entertainment is this.
We would like to formally announce our plans for BTOB’s upcoming endeavors.
Before our second exclusive deal with BTOB expired, we had lengthy discussions with the members and came to the joint decision not to renew.
With this, our 11-year collaboration comes to an end with Cube Entertainment, BTOB member Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Lim Hyunsik, Peniel, and Yuk Sungjae.
Since making their debut on March 21, 2012, BTOB—a boy group that embodies the third generation of K-pop—has gained recognition for their exceptional vocal abilities and well-liked songs.
I express my gratitude to BTOB for their outstanding accomplishments during their extended tenure as a Cube Entertainment member, and we express our appreciation to their fans MELODY for their unwavering support.
Unfortunately, this marks the end of Cube Entertainment’s partnership with BTOB. However, we will truly support the members of BTOB as they embark on a bright future full with opportunities.
Please give BTOB, who is embarking on a new path, your undying love.”
As for Pentagon member Hongseok, it was previously rumored that he will be leaving Cube Entertainment, following in the footsteps of members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok. As of right now, there are no new information or updates about the future actions of the Pentagon and BTOB.
