The fact that G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong, is being investigated by the police for possible drug use has rekindled interest in a statement Han Seo Hee made during Yang Hyun Suk’s trial.
G-Dragon was mentioned by Han Seo Hee, who had previously accused artist B.I. of buying drugs, during a trial involving Yang Hyun Suk on August 8 of last year. B. In September 2021, I was subsequently placed on three years of probation for possessing LSD and marijuana.
Yang Hyun Suk was accused of breaching the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Specific Crimes by attempting to threaten and coerce Han Seo Hee into hiding B.I.’s drug use. Despite Yang Hyun Suk’s initial exoneration, the prosecution challenged the verdict and demanded that he serve three years in prison during the appellate trial.
Throughout the hearing, it was mentioned that in August of 2016, Han Seo Hee had been called to the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor asked Han Seo Hee if she remembered being told by YG Entertainment to refute her claims regarding B.I.
Han Seo Hee responded by saying that, although her memory was hazy, she remembered Yang Hyun Suk and suggested doing something along those lines once the investigators had departed. Surprisingly, Han Seo Hee hinted at G-Dragon’s marijuana use in her testimony by introducing him. She asked why she was being targeted instead of G-Dragon and said that the celebrity received marijuana from a person by the name of Shin OOO, a friend of G-Dragon.
Even while the testimony attracted notice at first, it gradually vanished from the public eye. However, interest in G-Dragon’s claims has increased as a result of recent inquiries into her purported drug use.
The Incheon Police are currently looking into possible drug usage among celebrities. Actors Lee Sun Gyun and G-Dragon are rumored to have received medications from Doctor A, who is the target of legal proceedings.
According to G-Dragon, the accusations of drug use are untrue. “In response to news that has been indiscriminately spreading in the media recently, which is not based on facts, we would like to convey G-Dragon’s position as follows,” said Kim Soo Hyun, his legal representative, of the law firm K1 Chamber, on October 27.
“I have not used drugs,” G-Dragon said in the statement. “In addition, I would like to clarify that the recent news reports about ‘violation of drug control laws’ have nothing to do with me,” he continued. I will, however, fully cooperate with the investigating agencies and sincerely comply with the investigation because I am aware that many people are concerned.”
In 2011, G-Dragon was under investigation for marijuana use, but at that time, he was only charged with a suspended indictment. According to G-Dragon’s side, he had smoked a few puffs out of courtesy during a drinking session with young Japanese people while on a tour of Japan. He said that at the time, he was unaware that the cigarette contained marijuana.
The once-celebrity-aspiring Han Seo Hee acknowledged using drugs on multiple occasions. She used marijuana with former BIGBANG member T.O.P., with whom she had a romantic relationship, and smoked it with former iKON member B.I. in 2016. At the time, she was given a three-year probationary term. She was given a one-year and six-month prison sentence in 2021 for using drugs once more while on probation. In July of last year, the Supreme Court upheld the sentence of one year and six months, notwithstanding her appeal of the decision. She was given a six-month prison sentence in September of the same year for a third drug-related infraction. The predicted end of her sentence is next month.
