Global girl group TWICE triumphantly and eagerly returned to the Philippines on June 1. This time, as the brand ambassador for the snack firm “Oishi,” it’s for a “Snacktacular” fan meet. After a two-night sold-out event for “READY TO BE” in Bulacan and a successful “TWICELIGHTS” stop in 2019, this is the girls’ third visit to the nation. The Mall of Asia Arena hosted their fan meetup in Manila, which attracted a packed crowd once again for the cherished group. Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu met with a small group of media members a few hours prior to the “Oishi” fan gathering to respond to a few lighthearted and thought-provoking questions. We also had the opportunity to question TWO of them about a fundamental and special memory they have of the organization. In response, Jeongyeon said that they had extended their contracts at one of these times. Jihyo said, “21:29,” when asked what song they would dedicate to Filipino ONCEs. The members completed writing the lyrics to this song at precisely 21:29 while performing live in Manila in 2019. It can also signify that the number “9” represents the number of members, TWICE as the number “2,” and ONCE as the number “1.” See the remaining Q&A from the press conference below! Could you tell us about some of your favorite times spent with Filipino fans? Tzuyu: We were visiting Manila for the first time in 2019. For us, Filipino ONCEs’ love and devotion were incredibly moving and emotional. For us, that was an instance of “O, Wow! O, Wow!” Jeongyeon: We had the chance to play in a larger arena during our second visit, which was part of the “READY TO BE” tour. Many fans have been waiting for our return performance in Manila for the past four years. It was also rather moving how much support they gave us and how patiently they waited for us. In the group, who is the most competitive? [Mina, Momo, and Chaeyoung gesture toward Jihyo] Momo: Hey! Any “Whoa, Wow! “Oh My God!” moments during the tour? Dahyun: ONCEs were able to join us in singing every song in Korean from beginning to end. That astonished me. One tour behind-the-scenes narrative Chaeyoung: During our 2019 trip to Manila, Dahyun was a little under the weather prior to the event, but she performed exceptionally well on stage. Any “Whoa, Wow! scenes from the 60-second Oishi shot that excite you? Sana: We were split up into smaller groups for the shoot. We were on different shoots, but each time we visited the holding area, we would tell each other which Oishi foods were the best. We were passing out our preferred munchies to one another. Which Oishi snack is your favorite? Nayeon: Miggos is my fave. We constantly request additional Miggo stock so that we can eat more, even when we are in Korea. We had the chance to sample a few of Oishi’s newest goods and snacks when we arrived in the Philippines. Sana: We brought Miggos with us when we left Korea for Manila, and Jeongyeon was able to provide refreshments for the Korean media. And they cherished it. Why did you accept the Oishi partnership offer? Dahyun: Oishi is a well-known brand in the Philippines, and TWICE likes snacks, so we figured working with them would be a great way to create some synergy! The members were split up into four subunits: Corny Corny (Jeongyeon and Dahyun), Sweet Sweet (Mina and Chaeyoung), Cheesy Cheesy (Nayeon, Sana, and Tzuyu), and Anghang Anghang [spicy in English] (Jihyo and Momo). Regarding the Sweet Sweet subunit: What was your most recent romantic exchange or experience together? Mina: The sweetness of this moment is already there since we are together. Chaeyoung: When we visited a store during our US tour, we noticed a very adorable necklace made of two teddy bears. We purchased them. Mina: I got it from Chaeyoung! For cheesy Cheesy subunit: Could you tell us about a special gift that one of the other members gave you? Tzuyu: I’ve gotten a number of presents from other members, but one that stands out is the pajamas Momo provided to every member for Christmas. There was adorable packing within the box. Nayeon: I also get a lot of gifts, and every single one of them is special. I will, however, go with the air purifier I’ve been wanting to purchase for a very long time because Jeongyeon and I just made eye contact. It was given to me by Jeongyeon. I’m currently breathing in Jeongyeon’s good hair from the air purifier she gave me. Sana: I’ve also received a ton of gifts, and each one is quite memorable. One thing, though, that I always notice in the house is the wall clock that Mina gave me. Consequently, every time I glance at the wall clock, the standard of my lifestyle rises. Expressing gratitude in a charming way to Mina (laughs) For the Corny Corny subunit: What do you like to do with the members when you’re not performing or participating in activities with TWICE? Jeongyeon: You can ask someone, “What if this happens?” in Korea as part of a game called the “What If” game. Both the members and I enjoy posing queries. Dahyun: You know, I had the exact same idea. In reference to the Anghang Anghang subunit: To what extent is your tolerance for spice in food? Jihyo: Since Momo and I aren’t really fond of spicy food, we were discussing our options [when we were selected for the Anghang Anghang unit]. That was our response. The spicy prawn crackers weren’t all that spicy when we tasted them, but you could certainly taste the spice. Momo: The prawn crackers had a hint of spice, but it was still enjoyable. It tastes great. What is your favorite Filipino dish? Jihyo: We cook Korean food whenever we travel to the Philippines for a concert, so we are unable to truly sample Filipino cuisine. The Halo-halo is one item I’d want to try. It is comparable to Korean Bingsu. TWICE will celebrate its thirtieth birthday. How will you commemorate this achievement? Tzuyu: We have so many schedules, which is why it has been so long since the nine of us went on a trip or holiday. We therefore intend to celebrate and get together in a restaurant this year.
