The final member of the legendary hip-hop R&B group Uptown has been revealed.
On November 21, T.O.P Media announced that singer Babylon would be joining Uptown as a guest vocalist.
Babylon, who debuted in 2015 with the single album ‘PRAY’, stood out by presenting songs in the emotional R&B genre. Afterwards, he made his name known to the public by participating in the featuring of Zico’s ‘Boys And Girls’, and was selected as a musician whom musicians wanted to work with by collaborating with Jay Park, Hyori Lee, Palo Alto, and The Quiett.
Babylon previously presented an old-fashioned sensibility by releasing the regular album ‘EGO 90’S’, which contains songs of various genres such as R&B, soul, jazz, and ballad based on the 1990s and 2000s. In particular, Babylon continued its relationship with Uptown by reinterpreting Uptown’s ‘You Inside Me’ with Lim Jeong-hee in a unique way, and including ‘Precious Gun’ produced by original member Jeong Yeon-jun.
As a result, Uptown was reborn for the first time in 13 years with original member Jeong Yeon-jun as the main member, the third generation female vocalist Ruby (Ru.B, Kim Bo-hyung), succeeding Yoon Mi-rae and Jessie, and guest member Babylon joining.
T Cask ENT said, “Babylon’s trendy R&B vocals fit well with Uptown’s musical color,” and added, “Babylon, who stands out in the hip-hop and R&B scenes, will also be active as a vocalist in Uptown. Also, with Jeong Yeon-jun, “Please show a lot of interest in Uptown’s new music by Kim Bo-hyung and Babylon, who are making a new start under the name Ru.B.”
