Jin of BTS will carry the ‘2024 Paris Summer Olympics’ torch. Jin was announced as an Olympic torchbearer by Dispatch yesterday, and Big Hit Music verified it on July 3. It said, “BTS’ Jin will be a torchbearer for the Paris ‘2024 Paris Summer Olympics’, which starts on July 27.” Big Hit Music said Jin is participating in the torch relay to promote peace and harmony, but the schedule has not been announced. The Paris Olympic torch, lighted in Greece, arrived in France last month. It will traverse over 400 venues and 12,000 kilometers before landing at the July 27 opening ceremony. Jin, famous athletes, Holocaust survivors, Nice terror attack victims’ relatives, astronauts, and sanitation workers are among the 11,000 torchbearers. The ‘2024 Paris Summer Olympics’ would include nearly 15,000 competitors from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports from July 27 to August 11. Up to 142 participants from 21 sports will represent South Korea at the July 9 send-off ceremony.
