Billboard launched ‘Billboard Korea’ in South Korea.
Billboard announced on the 15th that ‘BillboardK Vol.1’ will launch in Korea in June.
The worldwide media giant Penske Media Corporation owns Billboard, an American music entertainment brand.
Billboard Korea was unsuccessfully launched in 2009 and 2017. Penske Media Corporation, which acquired Billboard in 2020, relaunched Billboard Korea to much fanfare.
Billboard Korea will launch its website and digital platforms in April and May before publishing its first issue.
By publishing ‘BillboardK’, they hope to expand K-pop to global followers and promptly bring American entertainment news to Korea, helping the global music industry grow.

Yuna Kim, who runs Billboard Korea, said, “At a time when K-artists and K-pop enjoy high esteem worldwide, ‘Billboard Korea’ aims to act as an ambassador, promoting not just K-pop, but also K-fashion, K-beauty, and K-food – the various aspects of K-culture.”
Billboard headquarters representative Mike Van was excited about the Korea venture. Officially, he remarked, “We are excited to expand into Korea. Korean music’s contributions to Billboard have long been recognized. This expansion marks a milestone for our brand and continues our mission to promote Korean music’s diverse voices and talents.”
Billboard Korea wants to work with top Korean entertainment and platform firms and brands to create high-quality content and grow its charts and performances business using its global brand power.
New version of Billboard Korea joins foreign editions of Japan, Arabia, España, and Brazil in the Billboard foreign publications roster.
