BTS Jin’s ‘The Astronaut’ Ranks No. 1 On Mexican Radio For The 12th Time

BTS member Jin has shown his unrivaled popularity by winning No. 1 on a popular Mexican radio station.

Jin’s first solo single, “The Astronaut,” topped the “Rankig House TOP30” chart on the Mexican radio channel “House Radio” for the 12th time on September 23, 2023 (local time).

Jin’s ‘The Astronaut’ first charted on the ‘Rankig House TOP30’ chart on the week of May 20th (local time), and jumped to second place on the week of May 27th. The very next week, on June 3rd, it showed its potential to reach number one for the first time.

On the chart, ‘The Astronaut’ ranked first for two consecutive weeks from the week of June 3rd to the week of June 10th, and on June 24th. It ranked first for two consecutive weeks from the week of July 1st, and for five consecutive weeks from the week of July 15th to August 12th.

In addition, it took first place on the week of August 26th, first place on the week of September 9th, and first place on the week of September 23rd, recording its 12th first place in total, proving its immense popularity and unrivaled presence in Mexico.

Jin proved his global popularity by showing off his status as an ‘absolute radio powerhouse’ not only in Mexico but also in Argentina.

Jin’s ‘The Astronaut’ continues her long-running record by taking first place for 47 weeks in the ‘KPOP TOP 40 Ranking’ conducted by Argentina’s ‘Vega Radio’ last week.

‘The Astronaut’, released on October 28th last year, is like a sincere gift from Jin to his fans before enlisting in the military. It is an attractive song with the gentle melody of an acoustic guitar and synthesizer sound.

Jin, who showed stable vocals to the point where he was called a ‘treble craftsman’ mainly due to his strong high notes and belting (a powerful true voice singing method mainly used in musicals), showed off his soft yet solid mid-low notes and his unique refreshing and rocking voice in ‘The Astronaut’. It maximized the dreamy atmosphere and captivated global listeners with a unique charm that was different from Jin’s previous solo songs.
