BTS’s Suga Enlist For Mandatory Military Service On 22nd

Suga (real name Min Yoongi) is the third member of BTS to perform military service, following Jin and J-Hope.

According to her agency Big Hit Music on the 17th, Suga will enter the hospital on the 22nd and work as a substitute social service agent. There are no separate official events on the day he starts his service and enters the training center.

BTS entered its military service period in December last year, starting with the enlistment of Jin, the eldest member of the group. After completing basic military training, Jin is currently working as an assistant instructor at the recruit training center.

The second member to fulfill his national defense duty is J-Hope. He entered the Army 36th Division Recruit Training Center located in Wonju, Gangwon-do last April. At the time, J-Hope said on his personal SNS, “I will come back healthy and well,” and said through a live broadcast, “Don’t be too disappointed. I am doing my duty as one of Korea’s strong young people, so I will come back healthy and well.” It comforted my heart.

Suga released his solo album ‘D-DAY’ last April under the name August D. On the day of the album’s release, it sold more than 1.07 million copies on the Hanteo Chart, breaking the record for a K-pop solo singer at the time.

In addition, ‘D-DAY’ ranked 2nd on the US Billboard album chart ‘Billboard 200’, and the title song ‘Haegeum’ ranked 58th on the Billboard single chart ‘Hot 100’.

Last August, an encore concert ‘SUGA | Agust D TOUR ‘D-DAY’ THE FINAL’ was held, marking the finale of the ‘D-DAY’ tour that had been running since April. ‘D-DAY’ is a performance that captures his identity as Suga and Agust D, focusing on the songs included in his solo album of the same name and his existing mixtapes ‘Agust D’ and ‘D-2’.
