There are allegations that HYBE has been manipulating NewJeans’ parents and doing media plays against Min Hee Jin. These allegations have led to condemnation of the company. HYBE’s public relations department allegedly exerted pressure on their reporters to produce bad articles regarding ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, according to a story that was published by the media source Ilgan Sports on May 28. HYBE was brought to light by Ilgan Sports for allegedly engaging in media plays against her, with the statement that “the goal of this kind of media play is unclear.” Have they made an attempt to dismiss Min Hee Jin? To turn her become a social outcast, for example? A continuation of HYBE’s media play that made no sense. The allegations that Min Hee Jin claimed that RIIZE, TWS, ILLIT, and BTS were created by imitating her were the subject of article after story that was published over the course of three days. It was also reported by Ilgan Sports that a marketing officer from HYBE had met with several media outlets in order to demand that they remove the identities of investors from their reporting. The news organization reported that “HYBE publicly revealed Min Hee Jin had met with executives for the label’s major shareholders, but then ridiculously demanded the media outlet remove all the names of the executives that were previously revealed.” Continuing, Ilgan Sports stated, “The most irrational media play occurred twenty minutes prior to the press conference that HYBE was scheduled to hold, when they announced their audit.” According to a press statement that was issued by HYBE, Min Hee Jin was consulting with a shaman in order to operate ADOR. All of the charges that were made in the press release, which stated that Min Hee Jin was being guided by a shaman, were refuted by Min Hee Jin the day before, when she responded to HYBE’s questions on the 24th. However, once Min Hee Jin had provided her responses to HYBE’s questions, HYBE refused to share them and threatened to take legal action against any media outlet that did so. This is an even more significant issue. Then, twenty minutes before the press conference, they issued a press statement in which they claimed that Min Hee Jin was the one who threatened to take legal action. A third allegation made by the media source was that HYBE made an effort to exert pressure on news outlets to publish pieces that were critical of Min Hee Jin. According to a statement made by Ilgan Sports, “After the announcement of the audit on April 25th, the head PR representative of HYBE inquired as to why Ilgan Sports and xx were on Min Hee Jin’s side.” In no way did we ever take Min Hee Jin’s side. It was simply about her press conference that we wrote about. Ilgan Sports also disclosed that HYBE had been behaving in the same perplexing manner with the parents of the NewJeans members. It is stated in their report that “this shaman report is what caused NewJeans’ parents to lose faith in HYBE.” The executives of the label, as well as the CEO of HYBE, Park Ji Won, met with three of the members’ parents earlier today. In the aftermath of NewJeans’ parents learning about the charges against the shaman, HYBE advised the parents not to discuss the matter with their children since it could potentially cause them harm. Despite this, the pieces were published within one hour after their conference had concluded. Consequently, the parents of the members came to the conclusion that they could not put their faith in HYBE because the label professed to care about their daughters but then secretly released the articles. HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk was allegedly accused of neglecting the members of NewJeans when they would welcome him, according to the parent of one of the members. This is connected to the news that was just mentioned.
