Super Junior’s Yesung says of his “Unfading Sense” tour, “This is something that I’ve always dreamed of,” making his performance in Manila an unforgettable evening.
As part of his “Unfading Sense” solo tour, Super Junior member and solo musician Yesung concluded his solo show at the New Frontier Theater in Manila, Philippines on January 6.
During the two-hour performance, Yesung entertained the audience with his calming voice abilities, enjoying a great concert and spending time with his followers while speaking candidly. “Floral Sense,” “It Has To Be You,” “Beautiful,” “Scented Things,” and other songs are included in the set list.
“I prefer happy and rhythmical songs, ones that make me excited, than mellow and sad ones,” he said. Yesung also disclosed during the segment that he has poor vision and is unable to read the prompters that are in front of him. During the second set, he put on his spectacles “so I can see you all better and up close.”
“There are certain Korean jokes that you guys don’t understand every time I travel to other countries,” Yesung remarked. “And then I realized, I hope I can speak Tagalog.” “How I wish there was only one language in the world,” he continued. Isn’t it a little annoying at times?
In addition, the musician mentioned something he observed about the audience. You’re staring at your phones instead of looking into my eyes. He remarked, “How can I make eye contact with you, you’re all busy taking videos. I just wanted to make the concert special and unforgettable, so I did my best to make eye contact with my fans.”
Following their “Super Show 9” at the Mall of Asia Arena in December 2022 and their fan concert show at the Araneta Coliseum on July 21, 2023, Yesung is making a return to the Philippines with this event. As the audience chanted “SS10!” Yesung remarked, “Aren’t you fed up with it yet?” in reference to the group’s “Super Show” tours.
Joking aside, Yesung intends to return with his group as well as as a solo artist. “When our last album came out, I was actually persuading my members,” he said. “I hope we can see one another again in our next ‘Super Show.'” “Please continue to support me, not only me but also my fellow members, so we can come back again.”
Yesung performed “Together,” a song he wrote especially for his pets, during the last series of songs. He told the crowd a touching story immediately after he finished his performance. “They say a pet’s lifetime is around 13-15 years,” he stated. “I made an effort to spend time with my pets throughout the holidays and on New Year’s Eve last year. My dogs adore stomping in the snow,” he disclosed. “I actually had an appointment with my friends to go to a province, but then it started to snow, so I had to cancel it and go to my pets.” He believes that his dogs still appear like his puppies despite their advanced age.
“I didn’t meet many girls and I didn’t consume alcohol when I was in my 20s. Because I was ‘anti-aging,’ I was actually a loner,” he remarked. He said, to laughs from the audience, “I’m not yet a super senior, I still want to be a super junior.” “Well, to you, I’m still a baby.”
“The flow of time is not very important to me,” he said. “You’re still that E.L.F (Super Junior’s fandom name) who I fell in love with back then.”
As the performance came to an end, Yesung repeated his remarks. Since this is his first time traveling to other locations by himself, he claimed that he had a lot of thoughts running through his head. “Thank you for your support, this tour was made possible. This type of tour is exactly what I’ve always wanted, so I’m overjoyed.” Even though he was enjoying himself and the thrill of being on a solo tour, he acknowledged that there were times when he felt depressed “because I wanted to do more.”
Then, Yesung pledged to share more of his artistic side. “I need to try harder to visit you more frequently. And I wanted to use this opportunity to truly thank you for attending and supporting my concert. Please continue to be well till our next meeting.”
On January 13, ‘Unfading Sense’ will come to an end in Macau, following his presentation in Manila. During the performance, Yesung expressed his desire to continue traveling to the nations where he hasn’t yet given a performance.
