The highly anticipated “Project Y” has cast Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo as the leads. Climax Studio announced on April 29 that the duo would appear in the Gangnam-set noir series.
Two pals of the same age intend to steal eight billion dollars in gold bullion and escape.
Han So-hee, known for her commanding presence in Netflix’s ‘Kyeongseong Creature’ and ‘My Name’, and Jeon Jong-seo, known for her powerful performances in ‘Burning’, ‘The Call’, and ‘The Price of Fame’, are buzzing about their first on-screen pairing. The real-life friends will play roles that reflect their off-screen friendship, building anticipation for their chemistry and distinctive portrayal in the series.
Director Lee Hwan, known for ‘Park Hwa-young’ and ‘Adults Don’t Understand’, leads the project. Lee’s direction will offer new elements to Korean cinema, which is exciting.
Climax Studio and Wowpoint produce. Climax Studio has produced Netflix’s ‘Hellbound’, ‘D.P.’, and ‘Parasyte: The Grey’ and features like ‘Concrete Utopia’ and ‘Soulmate’. Internationally, Wowpoint has created creative material including ‘Sunset’ and ‘Parasyte: The Grey’.
After announcing Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo’s involvement, “Project Y” is slated to begin filming in the second half of 2024 and be released episodically. This partnership promises mystery, ambition, and dynamic narrative in female-led buddy movies.
