IU Topped Mnet’s “M Countdown” With The Support of BTS’s V, (G)I-DLE Made A Comeback As A Full Group

Singer IU topped “M Countdown”.
On February 1st, IU topped the Mnet music program “M Countdown” with her new song “Love Wins All,” beating (G)I-DLE’s “Wife” and claiming the first-place trophy for the first week of February. Notably, IU achieved this victory without even appearing on the show, solidifying her immense popularity and influence.
“Love Wins All” was pre-released on January 24th ahead of IU’s sixth mini-album “The Winning.” This ballad track features a minimalist and vintage piano intro, gradually building towards a powerful climax. Since its release, it has topped domestic music charts like Melon and Genie, proving its popularity. The song’s music video also garnered significant attention, featuring BTS’s V alongside IU. The video was directed by Um Tae-hwa, known for his unique artistic vision and beautiful visuals, further contributing to its widespread appreciation.

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE made a comeback on the same day with their second full album “2” (Two) title track “Super Lady”. Soojin, who had been on hiatus due to health issues, also joined the group to stand in front of fans as a complete 5-member group. (G)I-DLE captivated the attention of fans and viewers with their charismatic and powerful performance. The pre-released song “Wife”, which was embroiled in a controversy over sexual content, was not performed on the show as scheduled.
