IVE’s Wonyoung wins civil case against YouTube channel

Starship Entertainment reported on January 17 KST that IVE’s Wonyoung won a civil action against a former Youtuber.

Since November 2022, the agency has filed civil and criminal proceedings, including abroad ones, against Park, who maintained a channel that tormented its artists. The police have transferred the criminal complaint to the prosecutor’s office for a full legal ruling. Despite Starship Entertainment’s civil complaint, the opposing party has not answered, and Wonyoung’s case was determined in her favor due to false charges.

Starship Entertainment said, “After legal processes, we’ll release further information. Starship vigilantly monitors artists’ rights, reputation, privacy, and integrity. We will vigorously combat future harm and seek all legal options if no resolution is achieved.”

In July of last year, Starship sued the YouTube channel operator for distributing misleading information about IVE.

Wonyoung sued for damages in October of the same year, and her lawyer showed that the channel’s films contained inaccurate information and disrespectful content, causing bodily injury.

RrStarship and Wonyoung have also filed defamation and insult charges against Park, which the Gangnam Police Station is investigating.
