JYP Entertainment Acknowledges That The Equipment Failure That Occurred During NMIXX’s Performance At Shinhan University was ‘Arranged

To confirm that the MR malfunction during girl group NMIXX’s performance at Shinhan University was “planned” beforehand, JYP Entertainment released a statement on May 30 KST. NMIXX was part of Shinhan University’s spring festival lineup this past weekend, on May 27 KST. Subsequently, the MR abruptly stopped playing “DICE” at the conclusion, leaving the NMIXX members to perform on stage without any music. A day later, it was made public that the MR malfunction was, in fact, a “planned event,” despite the fact that the girl group’s professionalism and superb “live vocals” attracted attention to the issue first. Some bystanders were disappointed to learn this information, which was revealed by a member of the university’s festival planning committee. Currently, JYP Entertainment claims that “Hi there, I’m SQU4D. It was communicated to the event organizers beforehand that the equipment problem on stage during NMIXX’s performance at the Shinhan University festival was a prearranged incident intended to intensify the atmosphere on location, and an edited MR was utilized. But the NMIXX members themselves were kept in the dark about the incident in order to provide the appearance of naturalness. We sincerely regret not taking into account the possibility that such an event could be confusing and uncomfortable for viewers and fans, and we pledge to take extra care to ensure that something like never occurs again. We apologise once more to the supporters and members of the crowd that supported NMIXX during the festival. I’m grateful.
