KORAIL Employee Who Illegally Accessed BTS RM’s Personal Information.

After another assessment, the Korean Railway Corporation (KORAIL) employee who illegally acquired RM’s BTS personal information was reinstated, according to Dispatch.

Democratic Party member Kim Du Gwan revealed the Central Labor Relations Commission’s review verdict of the Korean Railway Corporation on December 22. the Central Labor Commission reinstated and paid ‘A,’ who was fired.

KORAIL’s IT development manager ‘A,’ inappropriately accessed RM’s personal data for three years commencing in 2019. Ticket purchases, address, and phone number were secret.

The Personal Information Protection Act restricts data use to service processing, not non-business uses.


An internal audit by KORAIL revealed ‘A’s improper access. The audit showed that ‘A’ looked into RM’s and other employees’ personal data. ‘A’ was sacked in April after the event.

Due to the seriousness of the infraction, the employee’s review request was denied. The Central Labor Commission reversed the ruling and reinstated ‘A’ after an appeal.
