Hybrid duo AKMU’s Lee Chanhyuk’s project group “Lee Chanhyuk Video”‘s “Umbrella” is gaining attention not only in Korea but also overseas.
“Umbrella” is a remake of a song by the same name by singer IU. Lee Chanhyuk has given the song a new feel with his own unique production and vocals. The song has been praised by critics and fans alike for its emotional lyrics and melody.
Recently, the global entertainment media ‘OK! Magazine’ selected ‘2023 K-Pop New Unforgettable Comeback’ (2023: A Year of Unforgettable Comeback Performances in K-pop So Far) albums were introduced, and Lee Chan-hyuk’s ‘Umbrella’ also appeared in the video.
Lee Chan-hyuk Video’s project album ‘Umbrella’ garnered a lot of attention before and after its release. From the unconventional composition of a total of 12 remake tracks, artists from various fields such as comedians, models, national short track athletes, actors, and singers participated as singers.
Lee Chan-hyuk’s sensibility, which was loved in Korea, also worked overseas. ‘Umbrella’ has been featured in ‘The Source’, one of the top 3 hip-hop magazines in the US, as well as ‘OK! In particular, Mashable picked ‘Umbrella’ as one of the next albums to top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and a highlight album in 2023, saying, “This album is filled with songs sung by various artists, making it more like a work of art than just an album.
