Legal action is being taken against SBS’ ‘Unanswered Questions’ over its handling of the FIFTY FIFTY contract dispute episode.

SBS’ ‘Unanswered Questions’ received a ‘warning’ from the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) for its handling of the FIFTY FIFTY exclusive contract issue. The decision was made at a meeting at the Broadcasting Center in Yangcheon-gu on March 5 KST after criticism of the program’s bias.

The ‘Unanswered Questions’ production team apologized for their impartiality oversight. Despite efforts to fairly represent concerned parties, viewers were upset by emotive letters and the absence of crucial stakeholders. Reflecting on the program’s 30-year run, the team promised to be more cautious in future productions.

Addressing concerns, the team explained their efforts to obtain broadcast licenses from all stakeholders before the court’s verdict. They regretted ATTRAKT’s CEO’s absence during reporting, underlining coverage issues.


In response to criticism, the committee unanimously warned of fairness violations and defamation dangers. Commissioner Moon Jae Wan noted the program’s unbalanced presentation before court findings, while Commissioner Lee Jeong Ok worried about misleading viewers.


Chairman Ryu Hee Rim stressed the program’s social disturbance and the likelihood of legal punishment despite apologies and corrections.

Last August’s episode covered the FIFTY FIFTY exclusive contract issue. The show was tainted by bias and neutrality concerns. Fans boycotted the program to cancel it, and industry groups criticized skewed reporting.


The KCSC received the most complaints concerning FIFTY FIFTY’s ‘Unanswered Questions’ episode from January to August last year.
