MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul: “Solar Chose The Title Track I Suggested… It Feels Like I’m Being Recognized”

MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul reveals Solar’s reaction to their first full-length album.

Recently, Moonbyul met with Star News at a cafe located in Jung-gu, Seoul and talked about her first full-length album ‘Starlit of Muse’, which will be released on the 20th.

‘Starlit of Muse’ is literally translated as ‘starlight of Muse’. While it has the meaning of a work (starlight) completed by Moonbyul (Muse), Moonbyul attracted attention by transforming into the nine goddesses who govern the fields of music and art in Greek and Roman mythology before her comeback. Her farewell announced the birth of her ’21st century muse’, projecting her inner self with her colorful charm. This album is also Moonbyul’s first full-length album released about 9 years and 8 months after her debut.

Through this album, Moonbyul presents double title songs ‘Think About’ and ‘TOUCHIN&MOVIN’.

He also revealed the double title song selection process. “Actually, I didn’t choose (‘Think About’) as the first title from the beginning. There were several candidate songs,” he said. “‘Think About’ is also a song that I asked CEO Kim Do-hoon to work on. It is also a genre that I am good at. So, I tried to show that side of me,” he said. He added, “Afterwards, I thought I could show different sides of myself with ‘TOUCHIN & MOVIN’. So, I confidently presented these two songs as the title songs.”

What was the reaction of Mamamoo members to the title song? Moonbyul said, “Before the title song was decided, I played the candidate songs to Solar first. But she chose ‘Think About’ and ‘TOUCHIN&MOVIN’. I was so proud. I felt recognized because a member told me the picture I had in mind.” Moonbyul

also expressed her desire to be recognized for her musicality through this regular album. She said, “I didn’t want to confine myself to a box. “There was a time when I locked myself away, and I want to get rid of that,” he said.
