Media sources that Shinsadong Tiger died in his studio

Since Shinsadong Tiger was a famous K-pop producer, his death has garnered notice.

The Seoul Gangnam Police have confirmed his death, but the lack of a will and the difficulty of pinpointing the time and place have raised questions. On February 23, Yonhap News exclusively reported that Shinsadong Tiger was found dead in his studio, compounding his followers’ grief.

Shinsadong Tiger told Donga Ilbo in 2012 that hit songs require tireless labor. His parents taught him to wake up at 8 AM, which he kept despite his busy schedule. He woke up at 6-7 AM when traveling, reflecting his parents’ influence on his everyday routine. He spent over a week living with HyunA and Hyunseung to understand the artists and create the greatest “Trouble Maker,” putting in extra effort.

Shinsadong Tiger also discussed his finances. He told KBS 2TV’s ‘Win Win’ chat show that his assets were worth 10 billion KRW. He was an idol music guru. He said his annual copyright fee was 1 billion KRW, and the 100 billion KRW figure represented the total worth of his albums, events, and endorsements.

Shinsadong Tiger was admired for his singing and charity throughout his life. He carefully handled his fortune, favoring his parents and supporting young composers. His generosity touched many people outside his personal circle. In 2017, Shinsadong Tiger’s finances were rattled by failed business dealings with a close buddy. This caused problems recovering monies owed to other companies, leading to a court-ordered bankruptcy the next year. He had to repay 70% of his obligations over a decade under the bankruptcy provisions.

Shinsadong Tiger had to face financial challenges before his tragic death, as the 2021 debut of the girl group TRI.BE showed. Fans, colleagues, and others touched by his compassion and spirit are mourning his sudden departure.
