CEO Min Hee Jin of ADOR spoke at a press conference on May 31 at 2:30 PM KST on the decisions made at the extraordinary shareholder’s meeting that took place earlier in the day. “My heart feels light because I am here after winning my case,” Min Hee Jin said as she smiled and made her public debut. This news conference is being held for a variety of reasons, but above all, I wanted to share my opinions about the state of affairs.” She went on, “Let me start by saying thank you to a lot of individuals. Some of the worst days of my life were these past experiences, which I would never want to relive. But thanks of a lot of individuals, I was able to get through the challenging times. Thank you to all of my acquaintances, supporters, and particularly those who, although not knowing me, voiced worries about my financial security. Naturally, not everyone had positive things to say, but even so, I’m not sure how to show my appreciation.” Then, as she spoke, the producer started to cry. As president of a HYBE Labels subsidiary, I regard my role as chief executive officer of ADOR to be my primary one. And occasionally, there are conflicts of interest between my responsibilities as the president of a subsidiary and the CEO of ADOR. They claimed that ADOR had embezzled money, and I thought, How could it be? “I’m here to carry out my responsibilities as CEO of ADOR,” Min Hee Jin said. “I do feel like a weight is off of me because my name was cleared of the accusations,” she continued. A person can become a criminal simply by having someone accuse them of committing a crime, regardless of whether they are guilty or not. This did not seem fair to me, so I moved for an injunction. I feel like I can release some of the load because the injunction was granted. Although some individuals continue to misunderstand and attempt to misinterpret my motives, the main driver of this whole scenario has never been greed for money or a position.” Then, Min Hee Jin underlined, “I have more freedom to make decisions now that my name has been cleared, but my goal is to realize the vision I created with the NewJeans team and to fulfill my vision for it.” I will give up money if you ask me to in order to have that vision. I think the vision we created is more significant.” She further disclosed, saying, “It hurt me to know that losing my job might also mean losing my vision. Additionally, there would be significant financial losses. We’re getting ready for a world tour that will take place in 2019 including a June performance at the Tokyo Dome. We also intended to release music at the end of the year, which helped us put together the setlist. It was challenging to concentrate on those preparations because of the ongoing dispute throughout the past month.” “I would like to ask that you let me carry out my plans for NewJeans,” Min Hee Jin enquired at this point. These incidents hurt me, and they hurt the members as well. If it were up to me, I would just go back to my work and reset everything to zero.” “I believe that the board members will continue to work for ADOR,” Min Hee Jin said in reference to the two former ADOR board members who were fired during the shareholder’s meeting. They will stay on staff at ADOR because they are among the organization’s original members and are required there.” Min Hee Jin said further while answering questions from the media, saying, “I would like to suggest a reconciliation to HYBE.” Even though I didn’t start the argument, I’m using this chance to say that I plan to stay on as CEO of ADOR. I would make a different decision if my only concern was for my own future. But I don’t think anyone will lose out if I keep working toward the goals I had in mind with the NewJeans members. I would like to make a reasonable suggestion. The recent occurrences also deeply wounded me.” (Note: The press conference was not yet over when this story was written, thus it does not include everything that Min Hee Jin said.)
