Minho pays tribute to SHINee’s Jonghyun on his 6th anniversary.
Jonghyun’s stardom began six years ago today (18th).
Jonghyun, 27, died of heart arrest in a Seoul home on December 18, 2017.
To remember Jonghyun, SHINee’s agency, posted a snapshot of his performance on their official SNS with the caption, “We always love you,” on this day.
SHINee member Minho posted a Jonghyun photo on SNS, commenting,
“You made winter warm again today. Hyung, I miss you more this year. Always missing, remembering, and talking about you!” He said, “I visited Hyung and met your mother on the way back. Do not worry—I calmed her. Lots of people miss you. Just saying. Sometimes think of me, Hyung. Meet again.”
Jonghyun, born April 8, 1990, became SHINee’s lead singer in May 2008. In addition to singing, he wrote and composed songs. He authored lyrics for SHINee’s ‘Juliette’ and ‘View’, IU’s ‘Gloomy Clock’, Son Dam-bi’s ‘Red Candle’, EXO’s ‘Playboy’, and Lee Hi’s ‘Breathe’.
Jonghyun’s radio show ‘Blue Night, Jonghyun’ aired from February 2014 until April 2017. He performed in the ‘Blue Night Lyricist Composer’ part and released his songs on ‘Story Op.1’ and ‘Story Op.2’. His solo singles ‘End of a Day’ and ‘Lonely’ with Taeyeon were popular.
Jonghyun gave his first solo concert in 2016 and his second on December 9 and 10, 2017, eight days before dying. Next January, his posthumous album ‘Poet|Artist’ was published. Jonghyun’s family founded the non-profit foundation ‘Shinin” to foster cultural and artistic progress, based on the title track.
