The Official Award Of A Certificate
ARMY’s dedication fueled this triumph. From streaming “Dynamite” (released later in 2020) to voting tirelessly, fans propelled BTS past EXO’s 43 awards in 2017 and BIGBANG’s 35 in 2015, per historical data. Their 2018 haul outshone TWICE’s 25 awards that year, cementing BTS as the top-awarded group. By March 2025, their total awards exceeded 400, but 2018 remained their pinnacle year. The K-Pop Records Library awarded them a certificate, honoring a record that redefined K-pop’s global legacy.

On March 27, 2025, the K-Pop Records Library officially recognized BTS’s record-breaking performance in 2018, confirming the group’s status as the most awarded K-pop group of all time. In 2018, BTS finally broke through. Their May album Love Yourself: Tear was the first K-pop artist to ever top the Billboard 200, and they took home the prize for Album of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). Love Yourself: Answer, which was released in August, won a Daesang at the Golden Disc Awards, and the first song, “Fake Love,” won Song of the Year at the Korean Music Awards. If Soompi is to be believed, they won a total of 19 Bonsangs and 10 Daesangs at several major ceremonies, including MAMA, Melon Music Awards (MMA), and the Seoul Music Awards (SMA), for their songs “Fake Love” and “IDOL,” respectively. Even in 2025, their 51 awards were touted as the most by any K-pop group in that year on X.
