NCT Haechan Donates 50 Million Won To Help Hawaii Wildfire Victims

Haechan, a member of the idol group NCT, donated 50 million won to help restore the forest fire damage in Hawaii.

On the 22nd, the Korean Red Cross (Chairman Kim Chul-soo) announced, “Haechan (real name Lee Dong-hyuk) donated 50 million won to emergency relief activities for victims of forest fires in Maui, Hawaii, USA.”

Haechan sent a message of comfort and encouragement, saying, “I would like to express my condolences to the residents of Hawaii who are suffering from the sudden disaster, and hope that the damage will be restored as soon as possible and that you will return to your daily life safely.”

The money donated by Haechan will be used for restoration of affected areas and support activities for victims through the American Red Cross, which is active in the country.

This is not the first time Haechan has done good deeds for his neighbors in need. Earlier this year, he donated 100 million won to the Fruit of Love Social Welfare Community Chest for restoration of earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria, and was named as a member of the Honor Society, a group of major donors of the Fruit of Love.

Cheol-soo Kim, president of the Korean Red Cross, said, “I am grateful for Haechan’s warm sharing practice for Korean Americans who are having a hard time as well as victims in Hawaii.
