NCT’s Jaemin Discusses His Photography Passion, Solo Exhibition, and More
Jaemin of NCT graces Esquire’s cover!
The January 22 photo, titled “Jaemin from 5 to 7 o’clock,” showed Jaemin in a comfortable setting sporting Fendi 2024 Spring/Summer clothing such a black suit, leather coat, and jeans.
Jaemin discussed his love of photography in the post-shoot interview. Jaemin said in an interview that he likes editing images to taking them. Jaemin said, “When taking pictures, I press the shutter frantically to capture the moment. Three or four months later, when I plug the SD card into the computer to retrieve an image, all the memories from that period are still there, even ones I didn’t remember. Cameras’ ability to capture time, place, and people is their greatest appeal. Perhaps an odd expression, but I feel really grateful.”
Jaemin said, “Yes,” when asked if his solo display has mostly NCT DREAM members. I also have some film landscape images, but I plan to print them out and present them in a sequence rather than frame them.
“Of course I am curious about how people will view my photos, but ‘empathy’ is what I am most looking forward to in my solo exhibition. Like scrolling through my camera’s memory card files, I want NCTzens (NCT DREAM’s official fan club moniker) who visit the exhibition to remember unique experiences they had with us.”
Jaemin said, “It’s my first solo photo exhibition, but it also looks back at NCT DREAM’s history. I think my photo exhibition enthusiasts are most enthused about that.”
Esquire Korea’s February edition has Jaemin’s full photo and interview.
