NewJeans’ mini-album ‘Get Up’ has dominated Billboard 200.
‘Get Up’ by NewJeans ranked 64th on Billboard 200 on October 10th (local time). It fell 4 places from 60th the week before but remained in the top 70 for 11 weeks.
On its first chart appearance, this album topped the list. NewJeans became the second K-pop female group to top this chart after BLACKPINK.
The 4th-generation K-pop girl group ‘Get Up’ is breaking the Billboard 200 record for longest stay. BLACKPINK’s first full album, ‘THE ALBUM,’ spent 26 weeks on this list. BLACKPINK’s 2nd full album, ‘Born Pink’, stayed 13 weeks, while TWICE’s mini 12th album, ‘Ready to Be’, stayed 11 ‘Get Up’ has matched ‘Ready to Be’ in length.
Billboard’s album charts also favor NewJeans’ ‘Get Up’ The K-pop girl trio set a record by staying at No.1 on the ‘Billboard World Albums’ chart for 10 weeks. It was No.16 in Top Album Sales and No.9 in Top Current Album Sales.
The album’s songs are also staying on Billboard’s ‘Global 200.’ ‘Super Shy,’ a pre-release track and triple title track, spent 13 weeks at No. 33. ‘ETA,’ another title track, spent 11 weeks at No. 88. After 40 weeks on the list, NewJeans’ ‘OMG’ reached No. 195.
BTS members also rule Billboard. Jungkook put his second solo song, ‘3D (feat. Jack Harlow)’ at No. 5 on the ‘Hot 100.’ His first single, ‘Seven (feat. Latto),’ remains popular. After 12 weeks on the ‘Hot 100’ chart, it’s at No. 57 this week.
Jungkook is the first Korean soloist to debut with two or more Top 5 hits.
Jungkook also had four solo tracks on ‘Hot 100,’ including his OST ‘Stay Alive (Prod. SUGA of BTS)’ the Charlie Puth collaboration ‘Left and Right.’
V’s first solo album, ‘Layover,’ reached No.70 on Billboard 200 for four weeks. It was No.6 on ‘Top Current Albums’ and No.10 on ‘Top Album Sales.’ Title single ‘Slow Dancing’ reached No.20 on ‘Global (excluding the US)’ and No.36 on ‘Global 200.’
With the title single, ‘Like Crazy,’ Jimin’s debut solo album ‘FACE’ reached No.48 on ‘Global (excluding the US)’ and No.77 on Global 200. The solo album ‘Jack In The Box’ by J-Hope ranked No.41 on ‘Top Current Albums’ and No.57 on ‘Top Album Sales.’
Doja Cat’s ‘Paint The Town Red’ tops this week’s ‘Hot 100.’ The album ‘One Thing At A Time’ by Morgan Wallen topped the ‘Billboard 200’ again.
