S.Coups, 17, exempt from military duty following knee surgery
Seventeen leader S.Coups was spared from military service on March 1 KST, according to an exclusive media outlet report.
After a physical exam for his mandatory military assignment, S.Coups was deemed totally exempt from service due to his injuries. He won’t have public service obligations.
In August 2023, S.Coups ruptured his left cruciate ligament while filming. The Seventeen member had to stop promoting after surgery and protracted treatment.
S.Coups has made few public appearances since then, focusing on healing. On February 23, Pledis Entertainment said that S.Coups’s condition has improved and that he would resume his programs in March as long as they don’t involve excessive physical activity.
Seventeen plan to release a new album in April.
Pledis Entertainment has announced that S.Coups has acquired level 5 exemption from military service, meaning he is exempt from conscription unless the country goes to war.
