Shaved Head And Manchu Fluency Mistook “My Dearest” Korean Actor For Foreigner

In the recently concluded MBC historical drama “My Dearest,” actor Choi Young-woo garnered notoriety as a scene stealer. As the drama gained popularity, fans’ interest in the cast grew as well. Actor Choi Young-woo was highly praised for his portrayal of Qing Dynasty military officer Yonggoldae.

My beloved Choi Young-woo demonstrated his presence by playing Emperor Hong Taiji’s right-hand man during the Qing Dynasty. The actor’s charisma and restrained emotional acting made the audience more invested in the narrative.

Particularly because of the way Choi Young-woo speaks Manchu fluently and because of his distinctive drama haircut, several viewers thought Choi Young-woo was an actual foreign actor.

Korean is Choi Young-woo’s native tongue. He put on eight kg and bravely shaved his head in place of a wig to become Yonggoldae.

The actor also worked very hard to understand the lines in Manchu. “My first line in Part 2 is in Manchurian,” revealed Choi Young-woo. I seem to recall writing that down around 5000 times. It’s why I will never forget it.

In each successive piece, Choi Young-woo has altered his appearance. This time, he won over the audience’s trust and established himself as a scene stealer by giving “My Dearest” the best character in his career.

Viewers enthusiastically responded, saying things like, “I can only remember this actor from ‘My Dearest,'” and “He was so impressive.” “I’m excited for him to work on his next project,” “His acting was so good that I mistakenly believed he was a real person from the Qing Dynasty,” etc.
