Son Ye Jin Named ‘Actor Of The Year’ At 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival

From July 4 to 14, Bucheon City will host the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), which selected actress Son Ye-jin ‘Actor of the Year’. BIFAN executive chairman Shin Chul announced. Son’s 23-year acting career will be celebrated in this year’s “Exceptional Son Ye-jin” display, which will include a book, a ‘Mega Talk’, and a photo exhibition. The BIFAN opening ceremony will include Son on the red carpet. The 2017 BIFAN ‘Actor Special Exhibit’ honors prominent current performers who have shaped Korean cinema. Famous actors like Jeon Do-yeon, Jung Woo-sung, Kim Hye-soo, Sul Kyung-gu, and Choi Min-sik have been honored. Son Ye-jin has been lauded for her parts in “Lover’s Concerto,” “The Classic,” “A Moment to Remember,” “The Art of Seduction,” “My Wife Got Married,” “Spellbound,” “The Pirates,” “The Truth Beneath,” and “The Last Princess.” She has won nearly 50 honors, including the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the 9th Korean Popular Culture and Arts honors, three Grand Bell Awards, six Baeksang Arts Awards, five Blue Dragon Film Awards, and two Korean Film Critics Association Awards. Her international accolades include Best Actress at the 51st Asia Pacific Film Festival for “April Snow” and at the 15th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival for “A Moment to Remember.” BIFAN programmer Mo Eun-young said Son Ye-jin “a representative actress of the 21st century with a unique charm through films and dramas.” Mo was confident that the special presentation would reveal Son’s variety and depth in acting. Son Ye-jin thanked the festival for selecting her for this year’s special exhibition, saying she was honored to follow in the footsteps of respected elders and for giving her such a prominent acting career start.
