Mnet is launching a brand-new dancing survival initiative.
On March 27, Newsen reported that Mnet was getting ready to air “Stage Man Fighter.”
The show “Stage Man Fighter” chronicles the journey of exceptional male dancers with unique personalities and exceptional dance skills as they compete to become the best.
Previously, Mnet produced hit shows like “Dancing 9,” “Hit The Stage,” “Somebody,” “Street Woman Fighter” (SWF) Seasons 1 and 2, “Street Dance Girls Fighter” (SDGF) Seasons 1 and 2, and “Street Man Fighter” (SMF) in a row, solidifying its position as a major dance entertainment show powerhouse. Rather than serving as someone’s backup dancer, the dancers featured in each program attracted attention as artists who filled the stage on their own, experiencing a newfound heyday.
Stage Man Fighter PD Choi Jung-nam has continuously demonstrated interest in and passion for classic dance. He directed “Dancing 9” and later shows including “Hit The Stage,” “Somebody,” “SWF,” and “SMF.” PD Choi Jung-nam said, “While we are currently focusing on the street genre, there are various other dance genres that we can explore,” in an interview with Newsen to mark the end of “SMF” in 2022. Those who have enjoyed the charm of street dancing this season might enjoy classic dance as well in the upcoming season, in my opinion. If given the chance to organize a show, I would like to include dancers from all genres and switch up the genre.
The center of attention is on the gifted dancers that “Stage Man Fighter” will uncover and rediscover.
