J-Hope of BTS is well-known for his honorable military service, particularly his time spent leading platoons. Photos of J-Hope actively teaching Army trainees fundamental shooting skills at the 36th Infantry Division Basic Training Center were recently made public via the military messaging app “The Camp.
J-Hope is seen with a green epaulet on his uniform, representing a platoon leader, and a sergeant’s insignia. J-Hope’s promotion to sergeant was originally planned for January of the following year, but he was named a “Special Force” due to his outstanding performance in areas like shooting and first aid. This esteemed honor, bestowed to soldiers who achieve particular competence standards, enabled his promotion two months in advance of schedule.
Additionally, platoon leaders are appointed to positions based on their peers’ exceptional assessments. J-Hope’s prompt promotion to sergeant and his wearing of the platoon leader’s epaulet attest to his excellent behavior and military prowess.
On April 18, J-Hope reported for active duty, making him the second member of BTS to join following Jin. Fans of the seven-piece group continue to be in awe of his remarkable military career.
