Voice Actor Hwang Won Passed Away Due To A Long-Term Illness, He Was 80 Years Old

Hwang Won, the voice actor who played Dr. Brown in the animation ‘Detective Conan’ and Uncle Jam in ‘Fly Anpanman’, has passed away.

According to News1, voice actor Hwang Won passed away on the 12th due to a long-term illness.

He joined TBC as the 2nd generation voice actor in 1966. After the merger of broadcasting stations, he became the 8th generation voice actor of KBS.

Hwang Won played various animation characters such as Dr. Brown in “Detective Conan”, Camille in “Hello Jadoo”, and Nobita in “Doraemon”. He also played various movie characters such as Gandalf in “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, Neo in “The Matrix”, and Haku in “Spirited Away”.

Hwang Won was respected as a pillar of the Korean voice acting industry. His death is a great loss to the Korean animation and film industry.
