With ‘Ride the Vibe’ under JYP, NEXZ faces pressure to follow Stray Kids

JYP Entertainment’s latest boy band NEXZ said, “We feel the pressure of being the first boy group to debut in six years since Stray Kids.” NEXZ performed at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 20th to celebrate the release of their debut single ‘Ride the Vibe.’ NEXZ is JYP’s first boy group since Stray Kids six years ago. The group was created in 2023 through JYP Entertainment and Sony Music’s joint audition competition ‘Nizi Project’ Season 2. Huey: “We feel the pressure of debuting after Stray Kids, but we plan to turn that pressure into a sense of responsibility.” With an average age of 17, the group includes Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Soken, Seita, Huey, and Yuki. Generation Z’s charms and strengths define them. Only Soken is Korean; the rest are Japanese. Six-member Japanese band NEXZ remarked, “We studied Korean hard. We hope you like us “smiled. NEXZ, an abbreviation of ‘Next Z(G)eneration,’ was coined by JYP’s head producer and ‘Nizi Project’ judge Park Jin-young. It symbolizes their desire to lead the next age with Gen Z music and performances. Tomoya pleaded, “Please watch over us as we grow and soar, just like our name.” NEXZ’s debut song ‘Ride the Vibe’ features experimental sound variations in a sensual ambiance. The song captures the excitement, tension, and thrill of a debut and pulls listeners in. With its ‘easy experimental’ hip-hop-electronica mix, the trio hopes to capture music enthusiasts. Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Soken, Seita, Huey, and Yuki will freely navigate the rhythm to show off their musical hues. Huey said “While preparing for our debut and the title song, we talked about highlighting our unique style and atmosphere.” Today at 6 PM, the song will be released.
