YouTuber-Reporter Lee Jin-ho, “BLACKPINK Lisa’s Contract Can Be Worth 100 Billion Won”.

Lisa’s contract’s high price was speculated by Lee Jin-ho.
The YouTube channel ‘Entertainment President Lee Jin-ho’ released ‘Why BLACKPINK is moving apart as a whole’ on October 7.

BLACKPINK celebrated its 7th anniversary this year and is considering renewing its YG Entertainment contract. There were reports about Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa quitting YG. YG Entertainment stated, “There is no confirmation and we are in discussions.”

Lee Jin-ho, an entertainment reporter-turned-YouTuber, said, “BLACKPINK’s renewal is emerging as a hot topic in the entertainment industry,” adding, “YG seems to be all-in on BLACKPINK’s full-fledged activities, while acknowledging individual contracts between the members and other agencies. And member relationships have changed. Some members never discuss personal matters other than work. Contract renewal between members and YG looks difficult.”

Lee Jin-ho posted on her social media account that Lisa was on Crazy Horse, a Parisian cabaret program. In Korea, idol images matter. He explained that Lisa would have had trouble appearing on such a show if she had re-signed with YG.

Lisa was reportedly promised 50 billion won by a Thai corporation, but Lee Jin-ho said, “It is true that Korean members Ji-soo, Jennie, and Rosé are receiving more attention in Korea. He stated Lisa was crucial to BLACKPINK’s global success. The contract value of Lisa exceeded 50 billion won and reached 100 billion won. Even though K-pop is popular internationally, betting 100-200 billion won on one member is challenging. YG can offer Lisa few appealing cards in this situation.”

The members have serious feelings regarding BLACKPINK overall. Lee Jin-ho remarked, “Even if individual contracts are done individually, they can do activities all over the world through BLACKPINK’s complete group activities. Since YG owns BLACKPINK’s IP, the members want to perform abroad, he stated.

“It’s not that the members didn’t think about their activities as a whole, but they put a lot of emphasis on individual activities rather than their group activities,” he said of BLACKPINK. “We’ll see BLACKPINK together until this year. When individual contracts begin next year, they may not be seen as a collective for several years, the YouTuber said.
