Cha Eun Woo cried while discussing his solo debut album ‘ENTITY.’
The February 16 KBS 2TV music chat show ‘The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet’ included Cha Eun Woo as a special guest.
Cha Eun Woo entered the stage singing his version of Lee Hyori’s “10 Minutes” and immediately captivated the audience.
Following his performances, Cha Eun Woo spoke with host Lee Hyori about his debut album ‘ENTITY.’ The artist said he wrote all the lyrics for this album and didn’t want to promote it.
“The album title is ‘ENTITY’ and my real name is Dong Min, so I wanted to share my emotions and feelings as ‘Dong Min’ honestly,” Cha Eun Woo explained. This wonderful album captures my heart.”
“So sometimes you want to communicate and share things in your heart but are wary. I wanted to prepare this album honestly, even if it meant sleeping less and taking longer.”
When Lee Hyori inquired why he contacted the show first, Cha Eun Woo replied, “I didn’t want this album to feel commercial, so I told my agency I didn’t want to do anything overly promotional. I would be glad if the record fared well, but I couldn’t come up with a ‘Listen to my music, here listen to my music’.”
When Lee Hyori questioned “Why?” Cha Eun Woo paused and said, “I had a rough year last year. Don’t think I can continue…” As he struggled to express his emotions, Cha Eun Woo’s eyes welled up.
Cha Eun Woo was comforted by Lee Hyori: “The record covers all those emotions. As an artist, your album conveys those emotions beautifully.” Cha Eun Woo said, “I cried a lot but am proud. I made this record to express my heart.”
